AutoCAD Electrical 2016 introduces a new tab on Project Manager; the Location View tab.
Over the next few posts we'll tell you all about this tab including how to:
- view component details
- view wiring details
- surf to components or wire numbers
- export component and wiring details
And if you use Autodesk Inventor for 3D work, you will want to see how to:
- link AutoCAD Electrical components to parts in an Inventor assembly
- view and resolve differences between linked devices
The Location View tab provides a list of all the devices, terminals, and cable markers in the active project. The components are organized in a tree view based on:
Hover over a device to see details about that device or right-click to surf to it.
You can also filter the tree view based on the Installation and Location values to see just the devices you want.
Click to refresh the data in the tab. This will pick up all of your changes, along with changes other people have made in the same project.
In my next post I'll talk about expanding this tab to show the Details and Connections tabs.
