With Solar Analysis for Revit, you can quickly, easily, and iteratively perform and visualize solar impacts on the faces of mass models in Autodesk Revit 2014 and 2015.
Using the free Solar Analysis for Revit technology preview, you can visualize and quantify the distribution and intensity of solar radiation on various areas of a mass, taking into account the shading effects from adjacent objects, such as vegetation and surrounding buildings in an urban setting. It can also help with shading device design (effective strategies in blocking unwanted solar radiation) and aperture placement (allowing wanted solar radiation), or PV panel layout and analysis.

And with information directly in Revit from your Solon Dashboard and Solon Runsets and the new interactive Solon ECRange tool in Revit or Web, you can understand the relative impact of solar gains and glazing on the energy use of your building, and then use the Solar Analysis tool to inform your design at the detailed level of buildlign form to mitigate or take advantage of those impacts.
Another important consideration when design glazing and shading is the daylighting performance. With Solar Analysis for Revit and Lighting Analysis for Revit, you can configure your building design for the best performance of both using the in-canvas graphical analysis display.
