Vault comes with a powerful reporting engine, that can be used on both content of folders and search queries. Did you know it's also possible to quickly export the results of a folder, the history of a file or query to excel?
To do so, run a query, go to a folder or select a file and go to its history tab. Make sure the columns you want to report on are listed in the window, by right-clicking on the column names => 'Customize View...'.
Then select the 'Fields...' button.
... and move fields from the left column (all available fields in vault) to the right column (the ones that will be shown in the window). You can re-order them with 'Move Up' or 'Move Down'.
Once done, click on 'OK'. Now make sure you highlight a file or version in the list you want to report on.
Then, from the 'File' menu, select 'Export'.
