Recently while accessing Vault from Inventor I was not able to access the Vault Ribbon. application. All the icons except "Go to Vault" were greyed out.
Though Vault was accessible through the Vault client and had no network or connectivity issues, Inventor was not able to access it.
Here's the solution to solve this problem:
1. Open the Add in manager in Inventor.
Verify Inventor Vault is set to Automatic and is Loaded if not, click on the Inventor vault addin entry and check the Loaded/Unloaded and Load Automatically checkboxes and Click OK
2. If the vault ribbon is still not accessible in Inventor in spite of performing the above steps, then the problem is that the Addin EDM (Engineering Data Management ) is not loaded or started.
Here are the steps to load EDM.
1. Open the Add in manager in Inventor. If you Right-click on open space, a pop up menu appears on the screen.
2. Select "Show Hidden Members"
3. EDM addin is now available in the list of addins in the addin manager.
4. Set to Automatic and Loaded
Hopefully the above steps help you access the Vault Ribbon from Autodesk Inventor.
