If you are using an Oracle database with AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 or later, this article may help you make you first foray into the world of Oracle's Data Pump utilities. It's not intended to be an exhaustive "how to" but it will perhaps break the back of your learning experience.
This is part 2 of 2 parts:
- Using the Oracle tools
- Using the Autodesk Tools
Using Autodesk Infrastructure Administrator
If you followed the process outlined in Part 1, you will see that within Autodesk Infrastructure Administrator your new Enterprise Project will have been created, although your Industry Model must now be socialised into an Enterprise Project and you'll need do some cleanup / housekeeping.
Creating a new Enterprise Project
Creating a new Enterprise Project is easy and the name can be changed later if you need to.
Socialising your Migrated Industry Model
Now the Industry Model environment must be made aware of the existence of the orphan that you have IMPDP-ed.
You will then need to login and identify the newly loaded schema:
In the end you will end up with your migrated Industry Model included in your new Enterprise Project (you can have many Industry Models per project but 2-3 seems fairly common).
Industry Model Housekeeping
Autodesk Infrastructure Administrator contains a great (and extensible) tool that enables you to keep your Industry Model ship-shape. It's called "1-Click Maintenance".
Once you've used the 'Scan for Issues' and 'Fix Issues' buttons (you may need to use a combination of Oracle SQL Developer with Georaptor to correct geometry issues), you should Update your Spatial Metadata:
It then makes sense to 'Create or Replace all Spatial Indices':
Finally, 'Optimize your Industry Model'
Conclusion
There's not a lot else to say other than "try it out with your AutoCAD Map3D or Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server" or even your Autodesk Infrastructure Modeler.
And of course any of your applications that can use Oracle SDO_GEOMs can benefit from data managed using AutoCAD Map 3D and its intelligent Industry Models. See www.autodesk.com/map for details.
