- May you build your model and the runner system as ONE Part then the 3D mesh do not have clear boundaries between the runner and the part:
This situation is not well for the analysis and the result viewing.
To get clear boundaries use this workflow:
- Create the part as a CAD part
- Create the runner system as a CAD part
- Assemble the parts
- Save the assembly
- Read in the assembly in Synergy
- Change property of the runner Body to Hot runner (3D)
- Use CAD Face for the selection
- Set a fine mesh density for the gate area
- Select the CAD tab and change the default setting; use Precise mesh
- Mesh the assembly (Hint: runner and part elements are NOT connected!)
- To connect the elements use Global Merge
- Use a small value for the Merge tolerance (for example 0.01mm)
- and de-select Merge nodes along an element edge only
The new mesh do have clear (flat) boundaries between the part and the hot runner elements:
The part do has a smooth transient mesh density from fine to coars (marked with a blue circle). This mesh design is very well. For more information view our article:
