Project Solon Arrives! - Alpha Release Available Through GBS
Building on a platform that includes the PES, we are proud to introduce the next incremental release of a solution to problems that analysts and architects have all been asking for.
Project Solon is a platform to allow seamless managed building performance analysis so experts can deliver actionable results directly into the workflow environment of the architect. (For more on the genesis of the project name see the bottom of the post.)
Then go to the new link in the upper right corner:
Project Solon allows experts to reconfigure Widgets (analysis charts and information) and Dashboards (collections of widgets) for use by anyone who needs this information in their decision-making process.
These templates are an extension of capabilities for products that use Green Building Studio for personalizing your analysis and results to help you better understand your building's energy performance and there for make better decisions.
Project Solon addresses a number of the issues that have limited access to building performance analysis by the building industry. Project Solon will help improve the quality and cost related to building design and operations. Some of the core industry issues identified by many groups are discussed in this RMI report.
Be part of the solution!
We are in the early stages of Project Solon with a lot more still to come. We are very eager for you to join us in defining how this tool is further developed to serve your needs. This release only exposes the widgets and dashboards and uses the results from a collection of analysis runs that cannot be changed by you the user. The reason we are releasing it now is because we believe there is quite a bit there that you can try out and experience. We want you to see where we are going, try out the capabilities and provide us with your feedback so we can make sure Project Solon evolves to meet your needs. Just spending 10 minutes on the feature and providing us your feedback will make sure that the feature continues to evolve in the ways that you need it to.

What is in the Name?
You may be wondering why we called this Project Solon. Well Solon was an Athenian statesman, lawmaker, and poet but what makes him special to us is that he is credited with being one of the fathers of Athenian democracy. We thought it fitting to honor one of the fathers of democracy as we continue to help democratize Building Performance Analysis.
