I will be signing off for a few days around the winter holidays and wanted to take a moment to wish everyone Happy Holidays and a prosperous and healthy New Year.
As I was organizing things in preparation for my vacation I noticed that I had two items from AU that I wanted to share with you:
Lighting Analysis using ElumTools. This is a very interesting tool that has been around for a few years and is well integrated into Revit. I had a chance to talk to them in the exhibit hall at AU and it looks like the product is being well received by their user base. You can find a number of detailed videos demoing the product on their web site.
ecoScorecard by SMARTBIM: On my last day at AU I had a chance to talk to a few people from SMARTBIM who are working on the ecoScorecard product. This is quite an interesting product that can link to Revit. ecoScorecard is a web-based platform for manufacturers to host product content for architects to search with various filters. The add-in for Revit allow users to “tag” model elements with manufacturer data, and then evaluate models against building certification prescriptive thresholds. If you need to do LEED certifications this tool may help you out with a portion of that work.
Take a look at both products and tell us what you think. If you have already used either of them we are interested to know how you use them. In the mean time, have a great holiday season.
