Last month Autodesk organised an event to showcase the best of construction and future technologies impacting the industry. During the day we had speakers from contractors from the heavyweights of BAM and Balfour Beatty through to specialist housebuilders talking about how Autodesk solutions have supported their everyday work and given insight into projects and the whole business that they have never had before. Held at the world famous Silverstone racing circuit, home for many years of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, the surroundings were suitably impressive for a showcase of the best the industry has to offer.
We also had a special guest, Mervyn Richards, author of many of the BIM Level 2 protocols which are now being implemented around the UK as part of the mandate that came in force in April. Mervyn spoke about the history and need for the mandate and the value for contractors of working to these protocols. Autodesk also shared some of their industry insight with Ken Stowe discussing how to measure the return on investment from moving to digital and BIM technologies, and James Austin from the BIM 360 product team discussing how the team here is building the platform for the future of construction, and how Forge is a key part of that. We were also supported by our partners Leica Geosystems, Topcon, and DAQRI showcasing their technology and working prototypes of the next generation of construction technology.
We've now made these videos available online for anyone to watch, click on the link below to get access to this invaluable content for anyone looking to build their business case around why the move to digital workflows and BIM will lower risk, increase insight, and improve margins in construction.
